Carol Hicks Bolton – A New Level of Occasional Furniture.

The Carol Hicks Bolton collection has been a fabulous seller for E.J. Victor for eight consecutive seasons. The unique ensemble of eclectic collages has grown market after market, from sofas and chairs, to upholstered case pieces and now to occasional items.

April 2004’s introductions promise to continue this success with a wonderfully unique mixing of traditional materials – fabric, metal, wood – and an ingenious application of inventive designs – curved stair-step end tables, for example.
"It represents a new level of occasional," said John Jokinen, E. J. Victor president and co-founder.

Take the left and right matching curved end tables. Constructed of hardwood solids and oak veneers, the tables are designed with a brass gallery finished in an antiqued, aged bronze. The overall wood finish is very distressed with heavy, peeling paint. It’s the trademark look Ms. Bolton has made famous from her studios in Texas.

The tables’ curvature is designed to fit snuggly alongside a curved-arm sofa, particularly, E. J. Victor’s Lucia sofa.

In addition, Carol Bolton has designed a flip-top tray table with an all-metal frame and a cherry veneer drop-down tray. It features a strip paint finish.

An astonishing 48" round dining room table with a center medallion crafted of engraved metal, a carved wood apron with a wood tone finish accented with heavily distress paint, are included in the April introductions. A dining chair with metal accents on the back slat and a slip seat made from antiqued, double-distressed cracked leather, accent the table.

The Carol Hicks Bolton collection weaves threads of the past in a rich tapestry of collector’s items for bedroom, dining, and living room. There are old-fashioned turnings, charming carved motifs, hand-wrought metal, and aged finishes that show the layered history of generations. Worn patinas, crackled paints, and novel finish ideas show the layered history of generations.

Edward W. Phifer, III, Joseph B. Manderson and John Victor Jokinen founded E.J. Victor in 1990 in Morganton, NC. Together, the founders created a corporate culture that maintains an unwavering commitment to preserving time-honored, local construction methods used to create exquisite furniture for the home.
