As a signature component of its October 2003 introduction, E.J. Victor continues to expand its Caroline Faison antique collection with four accent tables, two chests and one awesome hand painted entertainment center that captures the genuine essence of European antiques.

Initially introduced a year ago, the Caroline Faison collection offers carefully selected European antiques, manufactured in a manner that duplicates characteristics and personalities of the selected antiques.

"What she does with mixing aged woods from France and English antiques and aged painted Italian pieces is a true delight to the eye, said John Jokinen, president and co-founder of the North Carolina-based premier furniture crafter.

And October's introductions are no exception. An 82" tall-by-76" deep entertainment center in a Genoa Finish, the cabinet showcases European Renaissance landscape scenes painted into door panels, accented with worn, hand-rubbed off-white finishes on frames and sides, and antiqued gold accenting on moldings and crowns.

The television cavity measures 45" x 16.5" x 36".

"It is a spectacular piece of furniture," Jokinen said.

Other items introduced in October include a unique Whatnot Accent Table, a 36.5"-tall Continental-style two-drawer, three shelve open table in a distressed cherry finish. With a 16" square geometry and a lot of shape on turned posts, aprons and sides, the slightly bow front table is an exceptionally functional and versatile piece that adapts to almost any room of the home.

A 53"-wide, 31"-tall European two-drawer reproduction commode supported by serpentine legs and finished in an antiqued gold with a leaf motif application rounds out Caroline Faison's October introductions. The commode displays the intricate, broken bow-front shapes on the sides and front that are characteristic of authentic antiques of the region.

"Caroline Faison has the most renowned antique shop in North Carolina," Jokinen said. "She participates in antique shows across the county. She travels extensively throughout Europe collecting English, French and Italian antiques that have authenticity. She has a very knowledgeable eye. And her contributions to her collections for E.J. Victor have been fabulous."

Edward W. Phifer, III, Joseph B. Manderson and John Victor Jokinen founded E.J. Victor in 1990 in Morganton, NC.
