HIGH POINT, NC: October 2004 — Building on the success of it’s Loggia upholstery package, E.J. Victor is expanding its collection of lavish upholstery hand-tailored in exclusive sunbrella® fabrics. October’s introductions include three settings - sun room, cottage, and family room.

Initially launched last year, Loggia was developed by E.J. Victor executive vice president and co-founder Joe Manderson and his upholstery product development team in partnership with fabric leader, Sunbury.

They developed an exclusive collection of fabrics made of sunbrella® that resist stains, fades and moisture yet retain the soft and gentle feel historically associated with expensive fabrics.

sunbrella® is a 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric that cleans easily, feels soft and comfortable and withstands years of normal exposure to the elements. The fabrics will not fade because the color is an integral part of the fiber (as compared with conventional dye techniques where colors are absorbed into yarns).

A unique characteristic of sunbrella® fabrics is that their textures and dimensions are subtle to the touch and pleasing to the eye. They are extraordinarily adaptable to E.J. Victor’s rigorous upholstery hand-tailoring requirements. They can be readily applied on any existing frames.

To accompany E.J. Victor’s successful Art Deco wood introductions, the company is expanding its assortment of transitional seating with broader selections at more moderate price points.

Highlighting the collection are an exposed wood sofa, a track arm sofa and an 88" long sofa that is defined by straight-line architectural elements. All have matching chairs and ottomans.

A new 82"-long, exposed wood, sofa with castered legs is being introduced. Designed as a tight back silhouette, it is easily adaptable to traditional, transitional and contemporary fabrics.

"Another new sofa has a very thin track arm," Manderson said. "It’s not a inch and a half wide. It has beautiful throw pillows, spring down seat cushions and wooden tapered legs on casters. You can go anyway with it."

Continuous shape describes another transitional new E. J, Victor sofa. Flared arms, a scallop-back rail and beaded oval legs create visual and physical shaping. Also available as a chair or ottoman, the model can be tailored with a skirt or with exposed legs.

All new frames are in the Custom Classic package, more transitional frames. The transitional frames will be dressed in an array of colors to show off their versatility. Each fabric creates a fresh look.

Historically, E.J. Victor’s upholstery program has brought exciting, fresh and unique fabric construction and colors to market. The firm’s design team work closely with the finest mills to create looks that customers cannot find elsewhere. October is no exception.

Edward W. Phifer, III, Joseph B. Manderson and John Victor Jokinen founded E.J. Victor in 1990 in Morganton, NC. Together, the founders created a corporate culture that maintains an unwavering commitment to preserving time-honored, local construction methods used to create exquisite furniture for the home.
